Spreading Holiday Cheer

"Service which is rendered without joy helps neither the servant nor the served. But all other pleasures and possessions pale into nothingness before service which is rendered in a spirit of joy."
-Mahatma Gandhi

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”
-Rabindranath Tragore

For anyone that knows me personally, they’ve probably heard these two quotes spill from my lips a few times over the years. I think I heard Gandhis’ before discovering Tragore, but didn’t really understand the former until reading the latter. They are truths that will stand the test of time for generations to come. And they are truths that I personally hold dear. For without these flawless deliveries into our human nature and their profound affect they had on me, I would have never found myself in the position that I am in today... Joyously serving!!!
Last year, we were so pleased with the turn out of our holiday donation drive for the North East Animal Shelter, we decided to not only do the same drive this year, but to also create a new avenue for people to donate. So, what we’ve done is created a wish list at Walmart. This allows anyone to go online and pick out items they’d like to donate off the wish list, purchase them, then Walmart either ships them to us, or some items are shipped to the store as well( which saves on shipping costs!!)

Yana and I will be picking up items that are shipped to the store as they come in. Hopefully this will make it easier for some who are looking for a new way to help. Of course, we are also still collecting any donations that you’d like to leave at the house for us to pick up. For a list of appropriate items to donate, please visit :

Thank you in advance for your continued support and generosity.
